First we have the in-person, in New York City, SCBWI 2025 Winter Conference from Jan 31 - Feb 2, 2025.
The keynotes! (Erin Entrada Kelly! Peter Brown! Sophie Blackall!)
The panelists! (Andrea Pinkey! Francesco Sedita! Wedy Loggia! Wendi Gu! moderated by TeMika Grooms!)
The Creative Labs, the socials, the portfolio showcase -- there's so much cool stuff happening, and we hope you'll join us in the Big Apple.
Then we have the virtual SCBWI 2025 Winter Conference from Feb 21-22, 2025.
It's a whole other amazing conference - with two industry panels – one on Making your Manuscript or Portfolio Stand Out, with Thao Le! Jessica Saint Jean! and Christy Ewers! and the other on The Outlook for Children's Publishing for 2025, with Tricia Lawrence! Jane Chun! Stacey Barney! and Foyinsi Adegbonmire!
Two inspirational talks, one from Torrey Maldonado! and the other from Vanessa Brantley Newton!
A first pages panel with two agents (Sera Rivers! John Cusick!) and an editor (Bria Ragin!)
And three creative labs, where you can attend one live and watch recordings of the other two!
There's lots more, including peer critiques and networking -- we hope you'll join us online for this one.
Illustrate, Translate, and Write On!

I'm attending the Virtual Conference. How many words should we have in our first pages for the panel?
Here's the info from the panel page - and good luck!
Attendees can email their first page by February 1, 2025
The email address will be accessible to all registered attendees under MEMBER HOME > MY RESOURCES > VIRTUAL Winter Conference 2025 Info, Handouts, and Video Replay Links
All submissions must be double spaced, New Times Roman
Make sure your genre is clearly listed at the top of the page
Each of the three panelists will select 5-6 first pages to critique live
All attendees will learn what goes into a gripping first page!
I have registered for the SCBWI Virtual Winter Conference. Where and how do I access the social media attendance badges?
The badges are accessible to registered attendees on the SCBWI website. People can log onto the site, go to MEMBER HOME > MY RESOURCES and then click on the Resource folder for the Virtual Winter Conference. thanks!
