Crowd Funding Bookstores

We've heard of crowd funding self-published books, and crowd funding book trailers, but now there's a new twist to how technology is democratizing patronage.  It used to be that only the very wealthy could support the arts and make a meaningful financial impact.  But now, as the New York Times is reporting, "To Stay Afloat, Bookstores Turn To Web Donors"...

We've reached a point where people (including Washington Post blogger Katherine Boyle) are buzzing about how last year Kickstarter gave out more money to the arts in the USA than the government's National Endowment for the Arts.

With all the clamor and predictions about the effects of technology on the future of publishing, crowd funding bookstores is a fascinating development!

Illustrate and Write On,
