Here's a taste
Stephen Colbert: "Every celebrity is out there cashing in on chidlren's books and I. Want. In. What's it take for a celebrity to make a successful book? What do I got to do?"
Maurice Sendak: "You're started already by being an idiot."
Be forewarned, if you're easily offended, don't watch: It includes political views and censorship and frank talk and marker sniffing ...and lots of laughs.

I've watched this so many times and shared it so often I've practically got it memorized. it's still making me laugh. Thanks for spreading the word.
ReplyDeleteI loved this interview. I am a Colbert faithful, but usually his interviewees don't get their point/agenda across. That's the beauty of Colbert. But, Sendak definitely got his point across ~ loud and clear and hilarious!
ReplyDeleteThis was a pretty hilarious interview. I'd already heard quite a bit about Sendak's cantankerous personality because a friend's brother works for Sendak, but it was fun to see him in action.
